About Us
Suara Networks (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SUARA) is a Media & Entertainment Company focused in distribution of Indian Film Content in the Home Video and Television space.
Formed in August 2003, SUARA has the reputation of being Malaysia’s reliable content provider and ensures timely availability of Home Video Content to the ethnic community. Having enjoyed this reputation, SUARA has the credit of distributing several blockbuster titles like SHIVAJI – THE BOSS, SAROJA, PADIKKADHAVAN, NANBAN, NAAN E, BILLA II, 7AM ARIVU, KUMKI, VINNAITHANDI VARUVAYA, MAYAKKAM ENNA, MOZHI, VILLU, PULI, AADHI BHAGAVAN, MANAMADHAN ANBUM, KUSELAN, THOZHA, ABHIYUM NAANUM, SIRUTHAI, PAYUM PULI, POOJAI, AAMBALA, SALIM, MANJUMMEL BOYS, PREMALU etc., amongst others. SUARA is one of the approved vendors for Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) and ASTRO for supply of Film content for the Television segment.
The Company holds the record for releasing one of the most successful film in Malaysia viz., ‘SIVAJI – THE BOSS’, which collected a mammoth amount of RM 9.86m in Malaysian theatres.
Apart from the Home Video and Television segment, SUARA is also a distributor of Tamil Film Content for the Theatrical segment. The Company has released more than 300 films in Malaysia since its inception and plans to expand this area in a big way in the future.
Our Managing Director
The Company’s Managing Director, Mr. Boban Balakrishnan, has over 32 years of experience in the Media & Entertainment Industry. He has in-depth knowledge of the Malaysian Film Industry and possesses 25 years of experience in Content Procurement, theatrical distribution, Distribution of Audio, and Video & Film Content.
Boban Balakrishnan started his career in the music industry at the age of 21 in India. While in India he worked for a large recording company for 11 years. He has gathered wide experience in the music industry in India and is a “sound recording mastering” specialist. Major players in India, United Kingdom, Singapore, and Malaysia seek after his expertise in the music industry.
Before starting Suara Networks (M) Sdn Bhd, Mr. Boban Balakrishnan worked for several major music companies in Malaysia, namely Maika Music Sdn Bhd and Five Star AV Sdn Bhd. He was also the local representative for Ayangaran International; UK based Music Company for the replication of compact discs for distribution in Malaysia and Europe.
His wide experience and contacts both in India and Malaysia, is an added advantage to the Company.
